Description of Skill Level  

Beginner I - Students entering this group have little or no experience in the water and will be taught basic water adaptation skills such as putting face in water, breath holding & assisted floating.

Beginner II - This class is designed for students who have some experience in the water and are capable of placing their face in the water.  The goal is to master the prone float & back float unassisted.

Advanced I - For more advanced swimmers who have mastered floating and underwater swimming.  Students will be taught the basic techniques of freestyle & backstroke including roll breathing.

Advanced II - Swimmers in this group will refine the techniques of freestyle, backstroke & move into the basics of butterfly & breaststroke.

 

 

 
 
Municipal Park Outdoor Pool

The Outdoor Pool will open Saturday, May 24, 2014

The pool hours are 10:00 am--5:00 pm Monday-Saturday. 

Sunday hours are noon-5 pm.  Outdoor Pool Phone # is 230-0726.

Cost is $5.00 per person.

Pool may close due to inclement weather.

The Outdoor Pool can be rented. 

Rental is $300.

Rental time is from 6:00 - 10:00 pm. Pool rental time is strictly enforced.

       **NO GLASS OR ALCOHOL**

                 **GRILLS ARE ALLOWED**

REQUIREMENTS:  ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE ABLE TO SWIM THE LENGTH OF THE CIVIC CENTER POOL.  ONLY FOR AGES 4-18 OR THE SUMMER AFTER YOU GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL.  

2014 Fees

 

Cost:  1 swimmer $145       2 swimmers $230       3+ swimmers $320

FEES ARE FOR NSL REGISTRATION, SUIT, T-SHIRT, SWIM CAP, AWARDS, UNLIMITED USE OF MUNICIPAL PARK OUTDOOR POOL AND CIVIC CENTER INDOOR POOL DURING THE SWIM TEAM SEASON.

CITY MEET FEES WILL NEED TO BE PAID SEPARATELY.

Excel is a private swim team that rents lap lanes at the Civic Center for practices and meets.

Aqua Fitness Class  

Full Members: No charge
Non-members: $3.00


Equipment Needed: Bathing suit, towel


Class Description: Water exercise has unique advantages. Water resistance helps improve muscular strength and endurance. Using this resistance, by moving in and through the water, helps maintain and improve flexibility. Because water resistance can be controlled and adjusted by the participant’s speed and/or motions, a workout can be designed to meet the needs of everyone, regardless of their fitness level.


Note: All class participants including members must sign the class registration sheet at the front desk before class begins. Any fees must be paid at that time.


As with any exercise program, please consult your physician before beginning this class.

Senior Citizen Watercise Class  

Partnership with Senior Citizen Center
Full Members: No charge
Non-members: $1.00 per visit or $5.00 month(payable at the beginning of each month)
Days: Monday and Thursday
Times: 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.


Equipment Needed: Bathing suit, towel


Class Description: This class is designed at a slower pace for people wanting to gain strength, flexibility, tone muscles, improve motor skills, and to build abdominal and back strength.


Note: All class participants including members must sign the class registration sheet at the front desk before class begins. Any fees must be paid at that time.
